Chinese Medical Treatment

Chinese Medical Treatment

Chinese traditional medicine, or simply Chinese medicine, is the oldest continuously practiced medical system in the world. It is often referred to as "Chinese Herbal Medicine" as it includes the use of herbs in addition to other therapeutic methods in the treatment of disease. One of the unique features of Chinese medicine is its emphasis on the holistic approach to diagnosis and treatment, which includes understanding the patient's genetic, physiological, psychological and environmental factors. Chinese medicine views the body and mind as an integrated whole, treating the root cause of the illness, rather than simply managing its symptoms. According to Chinese medicine, disease is the result of an imbalance between physical and mental states, which can be caused by several factors such as diet, lifestyle, weather, and aging process. Chinese medicine aims to restore balance by restoring Qi (essential energy) and Blood, while other techniques are used to prevent further stagnation and to help promote circulation. Chinese medical treatments consist of a number of therapeutic modalities, each with its own unique benefits. These include herbal remedies, acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, dietary therapy, Tai Chi/Qi Gong, etc. Herbal remedies are commonly prescribed by Chinese practitioners as they are believed to act gently, work synergistically with other herbs, and offer health benefits such as relief from pain, calming nerves, boosting immune system, and promoting general wellbeing. Acupuncture, a well-known modality of Traditional Chinese Medicine, has been used for healing purposes for thousands of years. It consists of applying tiny needles at specific skin points to balance the body’s energy and promote healing. In summary, Chinese medicine is an ancient system of healthcare that has been practiced for thousands of years. Unlike modern medicine, Chinese medicine views the body and mind as an integrated whole and aims to treat the root cause of the illness, rather than simply managing its symptoms. It includes the use of several therapeutic modalities such as herbal remedies, acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, dietary therapy, and Tai Chi/Qi Gong. These treatments are used to balance the body’s energy and promote healing, while also providing health benefits such as relief from pain, calming nerves, and boosting immunity.
