Physiotherapy also referred to as Physical therapy is the treatment of diseases, injuries, or deformities by physical methods like massage, heat treatment, and exercise instead of by drugs or surgery. Professionals who perform physiotherapy on patients are known as Physiotherapists. Physical therapy has proven to be effective in reducing pain and improving function, in several musculoskeletal conditions. It is found to be effective in patients with osteoarthritis of the knee. A combination of physical therapy and supervised exercises can eliminate the need of surgery in such cases    .
