Abstract:

India avowals a rich heritage in natural and holistic healing methods known as harmonizing or alternative Vedic practices. With its diverse cultural heritage, India is home to a plethora of Vedic practices that have been passed down through generations to generation. Traditional Indian healing practices like, Ayurveda, yoga, and meditation have been experiencing a revival in popularity and recognition. It has been a noticeable shift towards embracing and promoting these ancient practices once again till today. Traditional practices hold significant relevance in contemporary mental health and addiction treatment due to their holistic approach. focuses solely on treating symptoms, traditional practices view the body, mind, and soul as interconnected elements of an individual’s well-being. The present study purely qualitative research design adopted in the baseline of ethnographical exploration of Dhanvantari sutra and practices of dhanvatari community towards psychological wellbeing. Dhanvantari Mantra holds a venerable place as a potent invocation for health and healing and it believed to bestow health and longevity. Dhanvantari is typically depicted holding a pot of amrita, with Ayurvedic herbs and medicinal plants, symbolizing his role in healing and health. It is an integral part of traditional healing practices in India, representing the fusion of spirituality and medicine. Dhanvantari’s teachings and practices continue to influence modern approaches to health and wellness, emphasizing the importance of balance in body, mind, and spirit. The Dhanvantari sutra’s power in healing is rooted in its ability to realign a person’s spiritual, mental, and physical components. By invoking Dhanvantari’s energy, devotees can: Enhance their body’s natural healing processes, gain mental clarity and peace, reducing stress and anxiety, protect themselves from illnesses, Foster a deeper connection to the divine, which in itself can be a source of profound psychological relief. In the Dhanvantari formulation alleviate root cause of various illness and promote long-term healing and resilience by restoring harmony within the entire being. Incorporating traditional practices into modern treatment approaches offers a more comprehensive and personalized approach, leading to improved outcomes and overall well-being for individuals’ psychological wellbeing as well as health aspects. Traditional Indian approaches have the potential to offer a comprehensive and holistic path to recovery and well-being for individuals health challenges.

Biography:

Dr. Sudarsan Behera joined as Assistant Professor, in Department of Psychological Sciences, School of Human Sciences, Central University of South Bihar, Gaya, Bihar, India. He has awarded P.G and MPhil in Psychology from Centre for Advanced study in Psychology, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha State, India. And also Completed PhD in Cultural Psychology from Central University of Pondicherry, Puducherry, India. He had experienced with the collaborative project work in the organization of UNICEF, BvLF Educational Foundation, Netherlands, ICSSR etc., He got Defence Research & Development Organization (Ministry of Defence) Research Associate Fellowship, ICSSR Doctoral Fellowship at level. Interested area to work with Cultural Psychology, Indian Psychology and Psychometric at abroad.
