Title : Hydrogen medicine: A new promising direction in traditional medicine and public health
Abstract:
In the 21st century, healthcare systems worldwide are facing a growing burden of chronic and degenerative diseases associated with an aging population and oxidative stress. There is a pressing need for new, safe, and scientifically validated strategies aimed not only at treatment but also at active prevention and the extension of a healthy lifespan. Hydrogen medicine, based on the application of active hydrogen, represents precisely such an innovative direction. Active hydrogen acts as a selective antioxidant, effectively neutralizing harmful free radicals, reducing systemic inflammation, and supporting cellular energy metabolism. Its small molecular size ensures unparalleled bioavailability and the ability to protect all organs and systems, including the brain. Our clinical experience, which began with the opening of the world's first hydrogen medicine clinic in 1993, encompasses over 70,000 patients with various chronic conditions. All our procedures have been successfully applied for over 30 years. The observed significant improvements and high recovery rates demonstrate the therapeutic efficacy of the method. Our comprehensive protocol includes the full range of methods: hydrogen inhalations, hydrogen infusion therapy, hydrogen baths, hydrogen-activated mud wraps, hydrogen duodenal intubation, hydrogen colon hydrotherapy, and transplantation of hydrogen-activated microbiota, all aimed at detoxification, anti-inflammatory protection, microbiome restoration, and profound bodily recovery. Crucial for public health is the transition from clinical application to daily prevention. For this purpose, we have developed and patented the world's first household hydrogen generators (2009, 2015) and a dietary supplement for hydrogenating food products (2018). In 2025, production of the world's first hydrogen-enriched foods was launched in Armenia, paving the way for the mass integration of this technology into the daily life of the population. Thus, hydrogen therapy offers a scientifically grounded, safe, and cost-effective dual-action strategy: for the clinical treatment of chronic diseases and for their population-wide prevention. It addresses the main challenges of modern public health by offering a practical pathway to increasing healthy life expectancy and improving its quality, making it one of the most promising directions in the medicine of the future.
