Title : Effect of Moringa oleiferia on anoxia and cold resistance induced stress in experimental animals

Abstract:

Stress is a disorder of global illnesses. ‘State of non-specific resistance” in stress, a physiological condition that is linked with various disorders of the neuroendocrine-immune system is Adaptogens. The aim of study is anti stress potential ethanolic leaf extract of Moringa oleiferia (M. oleiferia) on Anoxia tolerance test and cold stress in rats. The effect was assessed by anoxia tolerance time and serum biochemical parameter Glucose, Plasma cortisol, Cholesterol, BUN and TG, ulcer index, PH of gastric juice and weight of gland and organs in CS a M. oleiferia dose 400 and 600 mg/kg(p.o). The obtain phytochemical results from our study suggest that the Ethanolic extract of M. oleiferia fruit contain flavonoids like kaempferol, quercetin, punicalagin, punicalin, poly phenols are gallic acid, chebullic acid and ellagic acid, and other terfluvina A and B has potential Anti-stress activity and antioxidant molecules. The main active component in punicalagin, punicalin, quercetin and poly phenols a natural product of the group of secondary metabolites, Several studies have shown that possesses a wide range of anti oxidant pharmacological activity. The obtained results of M. oleiferia shows significantly (p<0.001) increases anoxia time, decrease significantly (p<0.001) in blood glucose, cholesterol, TG, plasma cortisol and BUN levels and also decreased the weight of Liver, Spleen and adrenal gland weights. decrease in ulcer index and increase PH of gastric juice was observed compared to control group and Gerifort, Thus obtained results revealed that the M. oleiferia have potential adaptogenic/ Anti-stress activity.
