Biography:
Prof. K. Anil Kumar is the Head of the Janapada Sampada Division at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), New Delhi. A Socio-Cultural Anthropologist specializing in Tribal Studies, Indigenous Knowledge Systems, Culture and Environment, and Intangible Cultural Heritage, he previously served as an Assistant Professor at IGNOU (2010–2022) and CESS Hyderabad (2007–2010). He holds an M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Hyderabad. An accomplished scholar, Dr. Kumar has authored five books, curated major national exhibitions—including the "Janjatiya Darpan" Tribal Art Gallery at Rashtrapati Bhawan—and received the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Excellence Award in 2020.
