Biography:
Astha Chauhan is a young researcher who has studied ethnobotany and specially ethnomedicine in the Trans Himalaya and North West Himalayan region if India. Her interest lies in documenting traditional knowledge from the local communities of the far flung regions. Her PhD work comprises assessment and evaluation of ethnobotany from the Eco-Sensitive region of Daranghati Wildlife Sanctuary, Shimla, India. She is motivated in conserving culture and customs by studying and documenting folklores and traditional knowledge. She is also interested in educating the locals about the biodiversity around them and the need to conserve it sustainably.
