Title : Complementary and Alternative Medicine for the perioperative management of pain and mood disorders

It is established that preoperative mood disorders and perioperative pain significantly affect patient’s recovery following surgery. In the current opioid crisis and the risk of opioid use disorder associated with the perioperative use of opioids, complementary and alternative techniques represent an interesting alternative to control mood disorders and pain.  This presentation will review our experience with different techniques including Aromatherapy, Auriculotherapy and the use of the Bridge device and their indications in surgical patients.
